Edmonton is located in Alberta, Canada and positioned in the valley formed by the North Saskatchewan River. It is a clean and energetic modern city.

At the end of the 18th century in which fur trade was the main trade, by the end of the 19th century the Klondike gold mine was discovered in the Yukon and became the base of the Gold Rush. In 1905, Alberta became a province of Canada. Oil was found in 1947 and it changed into a modern industrial city. With its rich mineral resource, it became the main city of Alberta, which is the fifth largest in population and second largest in area for the nation.

Edmonton is the capital of Alberta and with a population of 750,000 as of 1997 it has the 5th largest population in Canada.
It is one of the most relaxed cities in the world, while the young and energetic residents are proud of its history and culture to actively design their future.

Beginning as the center for fur trade, it became the key city for supplying Canada with oil and natural gas, as well as the economic and tourism industry center for northern Canada
Edmonton is rich in oil, gas, coal, timber and agricultural resources. These resources are accelerating the development of petrochemical and agriculture industries.
 
Leisure and Tourism
Near the city is the great North Saskatchewan River. Small tributaries of this river flow through the city and is used for special events and leisure activities. The people enjoy street performances, folk music and jazz with festivals joined by dancers and singers.
Edmonton is also near the Banff National Park and Jasper National Park, making it a perfect tourist city for golf and hiking in the summer and skiing in the winter.
