| Hanji (traditional Korean paper) contains the scent, heart and disposition of our nation. Not extravagant, but has the gentle home fragrance and comfort. Our thousands of years old history is contained in Hanji and it contains our nation’s spirit and soul. The Wonju Hanji Culture Festival, which is planned and supervised by the local community, is where you can learn all about traditional Hanji. Korea Hanji Conference is opened for development of Hanji cultural products and some great attractions are the Hanji Artware Exhibit, Korea Hanji Artist Exhibit and the Hanji fashion show that is aired all over the world through Arirang TV. There are over 60 events that participants can experience such as making Hanji for yourself. In addition, there are singing, traditional theatre, puppet shows, concerts and various art performances, as well as traditional folk games that you can actually experience. Furthermore, there is a ‘Chiakgol City Tour’ in service that gives a tour from outside tourists on the attractions of Wonju. |
