| Vision of “WHO Health City Wonju” Protect and improve the health of the community in all aspects of life and pursue sustainable development, while respecting personal diversity. Ensure equality for the best quality and health in life, while creating a peaceful health city living in harmony. Objective of “WHO Health City Wonju” The city of Wonju respects the spirit of the constitution of WHO and joined the WHO West Pacific Region Health City Association as a founding member in June 2004. On April 7, 2005, which was the ‘World Health Day’, it promised its residents that it would strive to construct a health city in which anyone could live a healthy and active life in and proclaimed ‘WHO Health City Wonju’. The focal point of the policy was ‘Health and wellbeing for the community’, so that the people could live a life of abundance in a pleasant urban environment where nature and people coexist while taking full advantage of a healthy body and spirit. The objective is to create a ‘Happy Wonju living in harmony’ where the people’s quality of life is the best. |
